Is a video made to accompany the compostion  "Five more string quartets"  by Phill Niblock, invited by Marie-Hélène Elleboudt to take part in her concert series' Abstract Adventures' in Les bains Connective Brussels 2001.

Brussels based composer Stefaan Quix saw the perfomance, adopted the video and connected his composition "The Bazaar and the Cathedral 1.5" to it. With this title the work has been travelling to various places.

The video slowed down to a duration of 4hours, Orange Zwin has also been used as a decoration for an evening at Monty Antwerp.

This is how these magnified video pixels showing a massive cargo ship passing the horizon in a bright Noordzee sunset came to live several lives.

I remember the recording of this image at our Belgian coast, and being overwhelmed by the sky's incredible colors at that particular moment. I remember wanting to capture any single detail out of it and regretting that I had only one video camera at hand.
